(TS) – Buffalo today revealed the SHD-NHPU2 series of solid state drives that target users with older machines, which lack SATA connectivity. The new SSDs come in a 2.5-inch form factor and 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB capacities, feature PATA and USB 2.0 connection options, boast 64MB of cache, probably an Indilinx controller, and deliver transfer speeds of up to 101 MB/s (via PATA).
According to Buffalo, the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB SHD-NHPU2 drives will ship in Japan at the end of this month with prices of around $248, $361 and $623, respectively.
