(TS) – Currently, in its hometown of Taipei A-Data is greeting Computex visitors with its first solid state drive with a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, the S501 model which comes in a 2.5-inch form factor and, like the Crucial/Micron’s RealSSD C300, utilizes a Marvell controller.
The new SSD also packs 34nm MLC (multi-level cell) NAND Flash memory chips, 128MB of cache, and is set to deliver read and write speeds of around 350 MB/s and 200 MB/s, respectively. According to its maker, the S501 will be available in 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities. No word on pricing though.
