(TS) – Asus has been spilling timely details regarding its e-book reader plans but today their UK office dropped some ogle worthy pictures of its 9-inch DR-950 reader.
This 9″ touchscreen reader has a 1024 x 768 resolution and support for PDF, ePub, and HTML files (just for starters). It has 2-4 GB of onboard storage space and room for an SD slot, Wi-Fi and HDSPA, a USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Otherwise, users will be able to read RSS feeds, while the device will also be capable of translating content and performing text-to-speech conversion. Formats the device can read include PDF, TXT, Audible, EPUB, HTML, MP3, JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP. The device is said to weigh 13 ounces.
To be fair, the Asus DR-950 is not the first e-book reader to feature a touchscreen display, but the overall design is certainly attractive. I like the stylish matte black finish myself, preferring it over the white bezel that everyone else uses.
There is still no indication of a price or release date.
