(TS) – Those looking to build their own Xeon-powered folding machine might be interested in Asus’ latest workstation-oriented creation, the P7F7-E WS SuperComputer motherboard powered by the Ibex Peak 3450 and equipped with one Nvidia NF200 bridge chip.
The new board supports Xeon 3400 and LGA 1156 Core processors, has a 16+3 phase power design, six DDR3-2000 memory slots, two SATA 6.0 Gbps and six SATA 3. Gbps ports, plus four PCI-Express x16 slots ready to handle SLI (2-way/3-way) and CrossFireX setups.
P7F7-E WS SuperComputer also comes with dual Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, two USB 3.0 ports, a couple of USB 2.0 connectors right on the board, two FireWire ports and a DVI output. The board’s price tag has not been revealed.
