(TS) – Asus UK has today announced a couple of new N series laptops, the 15.6-inch N53JN and 17.3-inch N73JN models which are based on Intel’s Calpella platform, make use of Nvidia’s Optimus graphics switching technology, and feature a SonicMaster superior sound system.
The N53JN goes from £649.99 to £999 in terms of price and packs an LED-backlit (1366 x 768) display, a Core i3-370M (2.4 GHz) or Core i5-520M (2.4 GHz) processor, 4GB of RAM, a GeForce GT 325M or 415M (unannounced card alert!) 1GB card, a 320GB or 500GB hard drive, a Blu-ray combo drive, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, a webcam, a 7-in-1 card reader, a USB 3.0 port, and a 6-cell battery.
The N73JN costs £1,099 and has a 1600 x 900 TFT screen, a Core i5-520M CPU, a GeForce GT 325M 1GB dedicated graphics card, two 320GB HDDs, 4GB of DDR3 memory, a Blu-ray combo drive, and pretty much the same remaining specs as the N53JN.
Both laptops come with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit pre-installed.
