(TS) – Buffalo is about to release their newest portable hard drive ‘HD-PVRU2′ for the Japanese market. The HD-PVRU2 comes in capacities of 320 GB and 500 GB. It measures 81 (W) x 16 (H) x 130 (D) mm, and weighs 190 g.

It draws power from, and connects to the system using USB 2.0 interface. A proprietary Turbo USB technology aims to squeeze the most out of USB 2.0, with some higher transfer speeds.
The increased speeds of USB 3.0 are looked forward to by end-users because they make writing large files over USB up to ten times faster.
Through USB 2.0, filling up 320GB of storage space, not to mention 500GB, takes a very long time. This is also one of the reasons why some customers might not use USB drives as backup solutions.
The Buffalo HD-PVRU2 will strike Japan during a finish of Mar in dual opposite versions 320GB ($100) as well as 500GB ($150).
