Pioneer Computers selling two ION 2-based netbooks
(TS) – As expected, Pioneer Computers has started selling a next-gen ION-based version of the DreamBook Lite U11a netbook but the company also introduced a 12-inch machine based on the Nvidia platform, the DreamBook Lite U12 ION2.
Both these models are available with a 1.66 GHz (N450) or 1.83 GHz (N470) Atom CPU, 1/2GB of RAM, the GT218 GPU, a hard drive for up to 1TB of storage, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.5G, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, and Windows XP, Vista or 7.
The DreamBook Lite U11a ION2 has a 11.6-inch (1366×768) display and starts at $465, while the DreamBook Lite U12 ION2, with its 12.1-inch screen, goes up from $503.

Dell unveils Precision M4500 15,6″ fullHD core i5/i7
(TS) – The new Dell precision M4500 comes with either a Core i5 or Core i7 central processing unit, with the Core i7-920XM quad-core Extreme Edition being the strongest option available. This chip is combined with up to 16GB of 1066MHz or 1333MHz memory and the NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800M or 880M graphics (with 1GB VRAM).
With that also comes your choice of either an NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800M or 880M graphics card that allows the 15.6-inch 16:9 widescreen display to support 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution with 100% color gamut.
Other than the above, the new Dell Precision M4500 has an optional 3 megapixel webcam, a backlit keyboard, multitouch trackpad and a multi-carrier-friendly Gobi 2.0 wireless chip.
Weighing in at 6lbs and measuring just 1.1-inches thick, Dell M4500 also gives you the option for a 9-cell battery pack that for a 7 hours and 40 minutes autonomy, or a 12-cell battery that boasts an astounding battery life.
Prices start from $1,700 upwards.
