Think beefed up Samsung Galaxy S2 hardware, but in tablet form. The exact SoC used in the tablet is a Rockchip RK3066 chip, which speeds the Cortex-A9 CPU up to a decent 1.6 Ghz. There’s also 1Gb RAM, which should be enough to keep the tablet running smoothly with Jelly Bean and some slightly more heavy duty applications.

The tablet comes with a rather average 8Gb of built-in storage, with the option for an additional 32Gb via an SD Card expansion.  This certainly should be enough space for a few pictures and some music, but don’t bank on storing many HD films. Not that you’d be able to make full use of high definition content anyway, as the 9.7 inch display only supports a resolution of 1024 x 768, which is pretty disappointing for large sized tablet.

As with previous Archos products, the cameras are barely even worth mentioning but will be sufficient for video chat purposes. The Arnova 97 G4 features a 2 megapixel front facing camera, and another 2 megapixel one on the back. There’s also no Bluetooth connectivity, but that’s a pretty common feature to leave absent in budget products.

On the plus side you’ll received Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) right out of the box, built in WiFi, and the ability to hook your tablet up to a TV or higher resolution monitor via a Mini HDMI output. Finally, the tablet measures 9.6 x 7.5 x 0.4 inches and weighs in at about 1.5 pounds.

We’re still waiting on pricing and information on which territories the tablet will be available in. But as Arnova products tend to be cheaper than other Archos branded ones, expect a sub £200/€ 250/$250 pricetag.

The fans, which have a specified sound production range of 17 to 23 dB(A), can also be switched off completely.

Because it requires a USB-port to connect the ZM-NC2000NT, Zalman has added a 4-port USB 2.0 hub to the cooler. At the time of writing, Zalman’s new notebook cooler is priced around £47. It’s likely that it will become available within the next two weeks.

The top model should come with a rather large 64 GB of NAND storage capacity, WirelessN, Bluetooth 3.0, 3G, GPS, an SD card reader and an 8MP camera on the backside and a simple 1MP front-facing video device.

Dell intros new 27-inch U2713HM monitor, its first AH-IPS panel

The U2713HM marks the company’s first Advanced High Performance IPS panel, which cranks viewing angles up to 178 degrees and adds Dell’s name to a pretty exclusive club of manufacturers. The screen can output up to 2,560 x 1,440 (WQHD) resolution, with Dell promising a 37 percent reduction in energy consumption compared to the preceding U2711.

Connections for the monitor include HDMI, DVI-D, DisplayPort, VGA, and four USB 3.0 ports. Contrast ratio is estimated at 1000:1, the response time is 8ms, and brightness is rated at 350cd/m².

Dell say the U2713HM is shipping in Japan starting today, but there’s no word on when it will be making an appearance in other territories. It’s not cheap either, with the monitor commanding a price of ¥49,980 ($639), but at least you’ll be getting one of the only displays in the world with an AH-IPS panel.

UPDATE: Dell has started selling the U2713HM on its Australian website too, although it’s a tad more expensive at AUD $799 (~$843). Head over here to pick one up.
