(TS) – Dell has just rolled out its Precision M6500 mobile workstation that gets an impressive range of Core i7 quad-core processors within, hitting a maximum speed of 2GHz with the Core i7 Extreme.

a maximum of 16GB DDR3 memory speeding along at 1,333MHz, a choice of ATI FirePro M7740 or NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800M workstation graphics chips. Optional RAID 5 storage for performance and redundancy, and a 17-inch screen 1920 x 1200 LED-backlit display.

Prices start out at $2,749 for the “basic” model but there is a special edition that features an edge-to-edge 17-inch screen and a special aluminum chassis for $4,219.
