(TS) – I- O data company expects to begin the deliveries of the new optical drive with blu-ray support. The drive has a SATA interface, 4MB of buffer memory, and provides maximum write speeds of 12x for BD-R, 2x for BD-RE, 16x for DVD-R/+R, 12x for DVD-RAM, 8x for DVD-R/+R DL and DVD+R, 6x for DVD-RW, 48x for CD-R and 24x for CD-RW.

This latest Blu-ray burner will complement the company’s existing offer and can burn Blu-ray disks of both 25GB and 50GB capacities at up to 12x.

The new I-O Data internal Blu-ray burner will become available, in Japan, later this month, and will carry a price tag of 28,500 Yen, which is the equivalent of $315. The drive will be accompanied by a one-year warranty.
