(TS) – LG has introduced its first full HD LED 3D TV in South Korea. The LX9500 INFINIA 3D TV has a 55-inch screen and is illuminated by panels of LEDs behind the screen (1,200 LEDs if you want the exact count) to provide excellent picture quality and brightness.

The LX9500 will support the active shutter glasses needed to let you experience the 3D effect, as well as HDMI 1.4 ports, USB 2.0, Wireless AV Link, Skype (via an optional camera), and is also DLNA-ready if you opt to add-on the dongle.

The new range of television sets will be available in screen sizes between 47-inches to 55-inches and a common feature amongst them is the reduced footprint achieved through a 0.63-inch bezel and a 0.87-inch thickness. Some of the other features on the LX9500 include Skype video calling and of course Internet access.

The LX9500 does require active 3D glasses. LG will offer 47-inch and 55-inch versions of the sets in Korea first with America and Europe in early May. Pricing is unannounced.
