(TS) – Optus today announced the LG Optimus F5 as the first prepaid handset on Optus’ superfast 4G network. The Optimus F5 is the latest Android smartphone to join Optus’ line-up of devices, offering customers affordable pricing and fast network performance.
The LG Optimus F5 possesses 4G functionality that is usually found in new high-end smartphones. Then, it also has a 4.3-inch IPS screen. For its processor, it is equipped with Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm that is capable of delivering an overall clock speed of 1.2GHz. Add to these a 1GB RAM and SD card slot to further expand its 8GB memory for locally storing files.
In addition, the operating system of the device is the Android Jelly Bean. Plus, it comes with a QuickMemo function that will let users bring out apps as well as writing or drawing directly onto the screen. Another notable highlight of the unit is its QSlide feature which will allow users to make some apps appear transparent in order to be able to multi-task.
According to the source, the features carried by the Optimus F5 show what consumers can expect on the LG’s next line of devices that are scheduled to be released this year. The LG Optimus F5 has a 2150mAh battery that’s removable and therefore replaceable.
The LG Optimus F5 is available now through Optus and Virgin Mobile stores and online. It is available for $299 through Optus prepaid and for $0 upfront on the $35 Optus Plan over 24 months, or through Virgin Mobile for $0 on the $29 Big Plan.
