(TS) – LG Electronics unveiled its stylish ultra-slim TV during LG press conference at CES 2010, which boasts 6.9mm thickness at the slimmest part and 10mm-thick bezel. At just 6.9mm thin, it’s easily one of the slimmest sets we’ve ever had the opportunity to ogle, and when speaking with executives afterwards, they confessed that more details would flow later in the year.
Local dimming enables much higher contrasts, as the backlight can be controlled in smaller areas of the screen, while pixel compensation prevents banding in areas of extreme contrast.
When asked about pricing and availability, LG’s executives remained mum on how much the TV will cost when it’s eventually launched, but said that we may it on store shelves before the end of 2010. The executives couldn’t say whether it’d make it to Europe at the same time as Japan and the US, though.
