(TS) – MSI has today officially launched two new Cypress-powered cards which, although they make use of the Twin Frozr II cooling system, are not part of the Lightning family. These Radeons have stock clocks but Military Class components and can brag about being equipped with a cooler boating two 80mm PWN fans and four heatpipes (two of which are 8mm-thick SuperPipes), that can lower GPU temps by up to 12°C more than reference solutions.
Spec wise, the R5850 Twin Frozr II features 1440 Stream Processors, a core clock of 725 MHz and 1GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 4000 MHz, while the R5870 model packs 1600 SPs, and GPU/memory frequencies of 850/4800 MHz. Both models have DirectX 11 and CrossFireX support and provide DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort connectivity. No word on pricing or availability yet.
