Acer has a new rival in the highly-affordable netbook market in the form of the $309.99 MSI Wind U135 netbook, powered by Intel’s Pine Trail platform. The new netbook, considered to be a special edition was launched by the company to “commemorate” a special occasion for MSI, namely that the company has successfully sold millions of MSI netbooks.

The specs on the netbook are pretty standard — Windows 7, 1 GB of DDR2 RAM, a 160 GB or 250 GB HD, a choice of several colors (Silver, Charcoal, Ruby and Sapphire).

A 10-inch screen with a standard 1,024×600-pixel resolution, three USB ports, a 1.3 megapixel Webcam, and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi round out the features. And, of course, for a price this low, the Wind U135 runs Windows 7 Starter.

The netbook is backed by a one-year warranty and can be found hovering between $309.99 and $329.99 in terms of price.
