(TS) – Nokia’s plans for 2010 included more entry-level S60 devices and halving their smartphone portfolio; the Finnish company also promised more flexibility in S40 handsets. IntoMobile have dug through the sound archives and come up with a quote from Kai Öistämö, Nokia’s executive VP of devices, who confirms that not only will dual-SIM S40 phones be launches but handsets with more than just the traditional numeric keypad.

“Next year you can also expect other developments in Series 40 such as adding QWERTY keyboards, dual SIM, touch UI, and so on” Kai Öistämö, Executive Vice President of Devices, Nokia.

In fact, QWERTY keyboard and touchscreens – generally limited to S60 and Maemo devices -will both migrate down to S40. No price points (we’re guessing cheap) or release dates.
