(TS) – Samsung Electronics has just announced the expansion of its external storage line with the S2 Portable 3.0 family of high-performance (7200 RPM), USB 3.0-supporting and colorful 2.5-inch hard drives.
The new S2 drives make use of the Dynamic Balancing, SilentSeek and NoiseGuard technologies enabling a quiet and smooth operation, and come pre-loaded with the Auto Backup, SecretZone and SafetyKey software providing data backup, encryption and password protection.
“As digital content continues to evolve from standard definition to HD and now 3D content, we expect the demand for high performance external HDDs to increase, especially among IT enthusiasts,” Ho-Seong Lee, vice president, storage marketing, Semiconductor Business, Samsung Electronics. “The S2 Portable 3.0 delivers the benefits of top performance and quality, and as a result, lowers the power usage of the external hard drive also.”
The S2 Portable 3.0 will ship later this month in the European Union in two capacities – 320GB and 640GB.
