(TS) – It certainly took its time but today Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Tab 7-inch tablet running Android 2.2. The new mobile device (codenamed GT-P1000) measures 190.09 x 120.45 x 11.98 mm and can be used for browsing, e-mail, voice and video calls, and for staying socially connected.
Samsung’s tablet weights just 380 grams, has a screen resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, a 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor with PowerVR SGX540 graphics, 51MB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of built-in storage, a microSD card slot, a front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera and a 3MP camera (720p-capable) with LED Flash and auto-focus at the back, plus 2.5G, 3G, Bluetooth 3.0 and 802.11n WiFi support.
The Galaxy Tab also packs an accelerometer, GPS, speaker, and a 4,000mAh battery which will last up to 7 hours when playing video. Samsung will release this one in Europe in mid-September and bring it to other markets in the following months.
