(TS) – Some five months after the VAIO TT was retired due to increased competition from cheaper alternatives, the T series of laptops has returned, at least in Japan. Looking a lot like the old TT, the new, 23.5-inch thick portable machines pack Intel CULV power and can be equipped with either a 1.2 GHz Celeron SU2300, a 1.40 GHz Core 2 Duo SU9400 or 1.60 GHz C2D SU9600, have a 11.1-inch (1366×768) screen, and run Windows 7.
The VAIO T can be added up to 8GB of RAM, has GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, is available with up to two 256GB SSDs and/or a 500GB HDD, a Blu-Ray drive or DVD writer, includes an ExpressCard/34 slot, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, a built-in webcam and can boast one of two batteries – one enabling up to 11 hours of operation and one topping 17 hours.
Sony’s VAIO T starts off at around $1,395 and can be seen.
