(TS) – Toshiba has now unveiled a new STOR.E series product, but not your ‘usual’ portable HDD, a networked HD-ready multimedia drive that can store up to 2TB of content (music, video) and stream it to HDTVs quickly and easily.
Looking all ssexy in its shiny black coating, the STOR.E TV+ measures 206 x 160 x 46.5 mm, has an SD (SDHC), MMC and MemoryStick card reader, USB and 10/100 Ethernet connectivity (a WLAN-equipped version will be available too), HDMI and Composite Video outputs, supports a heap of multimedia file formats and is bundled with a remote control.
“Today an external multimedia hard disk drive is capable of acting as much more than simply as a backup and storage device for digital content. It is also able to serve as a media hub for the home that controls multimedia streams between connected devices”, says Marco Perino, General Manager Digital Life Products and Services. “This truly adds value as it allows to view footage captured in nearly any format on a TV without need of tedious transcoding on a PC.”
The STOR.E TV+ is expected to become available throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa later this month.
