HDD and SSD maker Western Digital has rolled out a new My Passport series storage solution which is specifically aimed towards video storage and playback. The My Passport AV portable drive boasts 320GB worth of storage space, weights 180 grams, has a USB 2.0 interface and can connect to game consoles, Blu-ray Disc players, or media players, like WD TV, so you’ll be able to view your media on a large-screen TV.

The HDD also comes with the Direct Copy feature which enables Sony Handycam owners to offload and archive HD video without a PC.

“With more and more devices capable of generating and playing back HD video – camcorders, Blu-ray players, game consoles – portable hard drives are the best solution for this 8 GB-per-hour capacity-intensive content. The My Passport AV portable media drive is optimized for a better digital video experience with a growing list of consumer electronics, starting with Sony’s latest camcorders and Blu-ray players,” said Dale Pistilli, vice president of marketing for WD’s branded products group.

The 320GB My Passport AV portable HDD is backed by a two-year warranty and costs $109.99.
