Expected to be showcased at the Mobile World Congress next month, Windows Mobile 7 is said to have some base requirements which Microsoft has compiled to ensure that the upcoming operating system will run on capable-enough hardware.

Supposedly exposed by Evgenij Pavlov of HTC Russia fame, the smartphone requirements of WinMo 7 include a 3.6-inch (800×480) screen, 8GB of onboard memory, a 1GHz processor, a 5 megapixel camera, an accelerometer and a compass. If that’s the base then at least hardware-wise, Windows Mobile 7 devices should be pretty nice. Let’s just hope the software keeps up.
