(TS) – The German company, Wortmann has announced release its semi-rugged notebook, called Wortmann Terra Mobile 1430 Pro. Wortmann has given this model a ruggedized magnesium alloy casing to protect the unit in more challenging conditions outdoors (and from heavy hands). It would make sense for a tradesman to carry around a notebook like this. Further to the protecting outer casing, the keyboard is also spill-resistant, as is the touch pad.
Adopting a 14-inch non-glare display with resolution of 1280×800 pixel, this 1,339 Euro Wortmann Terra Mobile 1430 Pro comes with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/draft-n, a DVD burner, 1.3-megapixel webcam, Fingerprint reader, a card reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS Pro), three USB 2.0 ports, a PCMCIA Type II expansion slot, as well as VGA, HDMI and RJ45 ports. It also has a spill-resistant keyboard and touchpad.
Running on Windows 7 Professional and offers Windows XP downgrade option. this semi-rugged laptop is optional GPS and 3G modem, as well as a 9-cell battery. It also has brings an Intel GMA X4500 integrated graphics, and a 6-cell battery with enabling up to three hours. The size of Wortmann Terra Mobile 1430 Pro are 353×256×37-41 mm and weight 2.5 kg.
